It actually seems like an effective use of time. Reaching more people than ever before with the stroke of a few keys or taps on a smartphone or ipad. While all these forms of communication can be effective, we must be sure they don’t replace real networking and the most effective networking… which is building relationships through actual contact with people. Take some time today to evaluate how you’re spending your time. Are you meeting (in person) with your best customers and speaking to them on the phone? Are you spending quality time with your best employees and people in your organization? Are you getting out of your office to meet people? Don’t get caught in the rut of spending all of your time working on reports, sitting in meetings and sending messages via text, email and facebook.
